Change Vista Shutdown Button Function
Vista's default setup has the shutdown button set to put the computer in Stand-by. You can change the button to shutdown, hibernate, etc.
1. Open Control Panel
2. Click Hardware and Sound
3. Click Power Options
4. Click "Change plan settings" for selected plan
5. Click Change advanced power settings,
6. In pop up list, expand "Power buttons and lid," then "Start menu power button"
